Lots of time since last log

Halloween Party, Again at Torrens house who did a good job hosting it. Most of the same people as last year. Lots of American candy and some good apple pie. Crashed at Christines house and left the next morning on the 6:00 am bus with Chris.
As for my business class, still averaging about 15-20 students. Last week I took them to Beer Lezhe, the local beer company. I had a run in with a few of my 18 year old kids who had beer after I insisted that they not. I had a big talk stating that 18 means you are allowed to make your own decisions, with the assumption they are responsible ones. They understood, so I think they will not act up again on a trip. BUT the little pricks are still pricks in class.
The following day after out talk with the students and Ervis, Ervis learned a lot from our talk with the kids. The class is still going good in his and my eyes...but lately I have had a weird feeling. I think the kids are going only to please their regular teacher. We finished Pricing, finding your niche, and target marketing, but when I had them do some homework on what they have learned....ARG..they seemed lost. I think I have to re-evaluate how I am teaching.....This culture is not one to think beyond what is in printed in front of them and i don't have a book which all insist on having....Thank you communist and the school encourages that type of thinking.
My OA club is doing good. I have taken the students to a cave just outside of Albania. It was muddy and had bats. The guys totally dig it and the girls are enjoying another side of life their parents don't participate in...Next time I say, be prepared to get dirty and muddy, they will understand...
We also went to the Castle in Kruje....While it was not a wild trip, it was a fun trip. I am now trying to get them to go to a play put on, in a neighboring town by students. Not an Outdoor activity but fun.
Our video Project we hope is coming along. I gave them examples of other videos and hopefully they are getting some ideas. For our translation of material, they have to start from scratch...Lezhe, in all its governments 24 ideas to make the castle good for tourist, has only done 1/2 of one and has not written anything even in Albanian on the castle. Our students have to start from scratch.
I have asked World Vision to look into having a business class for the local villages. Maybe they can set something up and I can teach that.
As for Department of Agricultlure and my projects with them...today went like this as is most days:
8-10 meet in one office and talk
10-11 go to office and work...My office is searching the web for livingroom furniture
12-1 lunch
1-4:00 get ready to go home
4 leave the office
All this means that there is culture here that feels that after schooling, and they get a job....the job is for image not work...
T-day will be spent in Tirana at an Americans house and playing flagfootball with the US marines
Neser (Wednesday is a career day and Friday I am going to Elbasan to meet with the Depart of agriculture there.
